Take her out for a few hours, a day, a weekend, or longer, and make wonderful memories with your loved ones.
These cars have all the benefits of a driver’s classic car without the issues of older vehicles. Ruby handles like a dream, with a sporty engine, lightweight chassis, and removable roof. The Eunos Roadster/Mazda MX-5 was designed for UK country roads, taking the Lotus principal that 'lightweight outperforms heavy large engine cars' - and it worked!
She makes the journey a great part of your day out.
Enjoying Ruby and looking after her
Ruby was born in Japan in 1992, so she is 34 years old! She loves relaxing, and plenty of sporty moments too.
She hates being flat-out all the time, so a mixture is good. She likes gearing down to help stop her faster, she has disc brakes all round, but she is not a modern car, so you need to drive her with care and attention.
She loves cruising through the corners, you don’t need to be pushing her in all gears. It can be far nicer sometimes to just focus on the comers, steering her around them, enjoying her wonderful handling.
She loves pulling away up to 3,500rpm all day long, and 4,000 revs is great - any more and you really need to be experienced with these little older cars. The point is to enjoy within its limits, not to stress out with it, so take your time, let the engine revs build and enjoy it.
Kids love Ruby as she reminds them of the film cars. And remember to wave at other early Mazda drivers that you meet, almost all wave back!
